This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Cheer
I am the Mother to 3 small children. Three children who love markers, chalk, food, dirt, crayons, paint, dirt, mud, dirt...you get the idea. My children's clothing goes through so much every day. I have some clothing that I thought were beyond help. You know the clothes, the ones that are so stained you can't give them to the Thrift Store but don't want to dress you child in them either. Yeah, I have a lot of those.
When I was approached by BlogHer Reviews and Cheer to try out the new Cheer Bright and Clean I was very excited. Remember I talked about those clothes that are so beyond help? The ones that are so dingy and dirty that I didn't think the stains would ever come out? Yeah, I was excited to put this to the test.
When my Cheer came in the mail I immediately put it to the test. It is great. The scent isn't overpowering which is good for me and my family. We don't like scented things, and I typically buy free and clear for that very reason. But, the fresh scent was just that, fresh. And those white shirts? Brighter. Seriously. I wouldn't lie to you. The stains, well most of them came out. I used the Cheer Bright and Clean as a pre-treater, and then washed them with it also. I am impressed. I am also sure that the other stains will come out if I use this detergent and a bit of elbow grease.

I am on a daily mission to compliment people more. I think things in my head all the time but now I will actually say it to them. "You look really cute today!" or "I LOVE your purse!" It makes such a difference!

I teach a woman's Bible class - average age of the ladies is 85 and I also do a Sun. service at a nursing home every other month. Besides doing my best and a good message I try to be really upbeat for them and listen, hug, etc.

I try to do something nice for someone at least once a week...a phone call, a visit, babysitting, something. Sometimes I even designate that week for me and I treat myself to ice cream or a night out without the kids.

Makes a lot of people happy and keeps alot of things in society recycled out of the waste lands.
ReplyDeleteOK, I saw this contest when you first posted it but I was at a lost as to hoe to answer the question- how sad is that?! However, I dug deep and I have an answer, finally.
ReplyDeleteI brighten my friends' days by listening to them when they need to be listened to, to providing laughter when laughter is needed, by giving my shoulder to cry on when a shoulder is all that will do.

I like to send my friends ecards randomly for little things, big things, or just to let them know I'm thinking of them. It can be done for free after all and only takes a minute.

Every holiday season my children and I deliver food baskets to the less fortunate. We also drop off magazines to the nursing homes for the patients once a month.

Giving a smile and a "thank you" or "have a nice day" wherever we go is typical for me and my family. I find that it brings a smile to other people's faces too!
ReplyDeleteDonating to my sponsored child in Africa makes my day. I would love to see her face one day. I love to make donations to people and help others!
ReplyDeleteWhen I bake a batch of cookies I like to bring some over to my next door neighbor.
ReplyDeleteI brighten the lives of others by being polite and thoughtful. It doesn't take much effort to NOT be inconsiderate or rude to your neighbors or people you encounter on the street or in the store.

I am a true believer in the power of random acts of kindness. I was taught by my parents at a very young age through example of my parents being such advocates of performing random acts of kindness that by doing so you can literally change the course of someone's day or life. You never know when someone is on the brink, on the edge of sadness or despair and your small act of kindness can bring them back to reality and change the course of their life. Whether it is simply smiling at someone and saying hello as you open a door for them, or as I do very often, offer a helping hand to an elderly person by shoveling their sidewalk, or bringing them a home baked casserole, just doing something effortless on your part can make a huge impact on someone else's life. That is how I choose to brighten the days of others and I hope by my own acts I am teaching my children the same level of important this is as my own parents did with me.
